Peju Ojemuyiwa, Founder of MichelleBelle Immigration & Compliance Solutions

Biography

Peju established MichelleBelle in 2008 and has practised through successive changes to the UK immigration system, including the introduction and replacement of the tiered points-based routes and the sponsorship regime that governs employers today.

Her practice has developed along two lines that most advisers keep separate. On the corporate side she works with employers on sponsor licensing, compliance systems and the duties that continue long after a licence is granted. On the private side she advises individuals and families on route decisions, settlement and matters that have become complicated. Holding both perspectives is what allows her to tell a sponsored worker what their employer’s position means for them, and an employer what their decisions mean for the people they sponsor.

Alongside casework, Peju has built and led immigration functions, developed immigration practice and trained advisers. That work informs the Academy, MichelleBelle’s adviser development platform.

Thought leadership

Peju’s writing examines the relationship between immigration policy and the decisions people actually have to make: how sponsorship risk sits with employers, how career moves interact with settlement, and why so many immigration decisions end up being taken under time pressure that could have been avoided.

Migrants cannot control every change in the immigration system, but they can strategically build options so they are not forced to make important decisions under pressure.

What clients say about working with Peju

A pleasure to work with

Peju offered excellent advice and looped together the whole process given the number of people involved and the implications and challenges we crossed to ensure that we adequately covered the requirements for sponsorship of overseas national. The timeline was accurate and we achieved our resourcing goal successfully.

Always professional

Olapeju supported our Relocations Department on an interim basis through a period of important transition. As well as ensuring we continued to supply our services in an efficient and compliant manner, Peju recommended and implemented important improvements to our processes.

I can highly recommend

Following the appointment of our new Operations Manager from New Zealand, Peju was able to help our business to obtain a 3 year work permit for her. Peju took us through the complete process of becoming a category A license holder to the work permit application itself and issuing a COS. This was done with plenty of support and direction with minimal fuss.

Utterly trustworthy and reliable

Peju will always make sure that any course of action she is recommending to a client is the right one and all options are fully researched and checked. I have always found Peju to be utterly trustworthy and reliable and can work completely autonomously which was essential as a remote manager.
